§ 44-3. Authority to adopt rules and regulations and to install traffic control devices.

  • F.S. chapter 316 including, but not limited to, those powers specified in F.S. § 316.008, grants the authority to local municipalities to place traffic-control devices on roads, streets and highways located within their jurisdiction.

    The location and existence of all official traffic-control devices which are in place or in existence on all streets and highways, except state roads, within the boundaries of the city on the effective date of this chapter are hereby ratified and confirmed and shall be considered to have been authorized by the city council. The city council hereby delegates its authority to place official traffic-control devices on all streets and highways, except state roads, within the boundaries of the city to the city manager or designee, who shall hereafter be responsible for determining the need for placement of official traffic-control devices.
