§ 70-100. Meter required.

Latest version.
  • There shall be one water meter per residential, commercial or industrial unit connected to the city's water system. A unit shall be defined as each separate enclosed commercial or living area and not each building or structure. Alternatively, multiunit residential, commercial or industrial buildings may be equipped with one or more master meters; whereby the owner or operator of those buildings will be provided with a cumulative total for the entire water consumption of all units covered by that master meter, and will be solely responsible for independent individual billings and prompt payment to the city. The meter shall be and always remain the property of the city; however, the utility department may charge a customer for the city's costs of installation and placement of the meter as determined by the utility department.
