§ 50-101. Definitions.

  • The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this article, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning:

    Recreational vehicle means a vehicle type unit primarily designed as temporary living quarters for camping or travel use, which either has its own motive power or is mounted on or drawn by another vehicle. As defined in the following, the basic entities are:

    (1)

    Travel trailer. A vehicular portable unit, mounted on wheels, of such a size or weight as not to require special highway movement permits when drawn by a motorized vehicle. It is primarily designed and constructed to provide temporary living quarters for recreational, camping, or travel use. It is of a body width of no more than eight feet and a body length of no more than 32 feet when factory equipped for the road.

    (2)

    Camping trailer. A vehicular portable unit mounted on wheels and constructed with collapsible partial sidewalls which fold for towing by another vehicle and unfold at the campsite to provide temporary living quarters for recreational, camping or travel use.

    (3)

    Truck camper. A portable unit, designed to be loaded onto, or affixed to, the bed or chassis of a truck, constructed to provide temporary living quarters for recreational, camping, or travel use. Truck campers are portable units designed to be affixed to a truck chassis and constructed to provide temporary living quarters for recreational, travel or camping use.

    (4)

    Motor home. A vehicular unit built on a self-propelled motor vehicle chassis, primarily designed to provide temporary living quarters for recreational, camping or travel use.

    Tourist camp means a place where two or more tents, tent houses, or camp cottages are located and offered for sleeping or eating accommodations, most generally to the transient public, and where there is direct remuneration in money to the owner, or indirect benefit to the owner in connection with a related business.

    Trailer camp means a place set aside and offered most generally to the transient public, for the parking and accommodation of two or more automobile trailers which are to be occupied for sleeping or eating, for either a direct money consideration or for indirect benefit to the owner in connection with a related business.

    Vehicle sales lot means an area within the city operated by a duly licensed person engaged in the sale, trade, or exchange of and general repair and servicing of new or used vehicles. Such vehicle sales lots shall also embrace sales rooms used in the display, sale, trade and exchange of new and used vehicles. Vehicle sales lots may also be operated in conjunction with any other duly licensed business.
